Fishing at Lake Storfjorden is best from a boat (motors with max. 10 hp are allowed). Despite its size, the Storfjorden is relatively shallow, so pay attention to the depth. The area west of Storøyne is known as a good place for trolling. From ashore, fishing is best at Flyvatnet in the South or at the mouth of the river Buaråne. On Storøyne, there’s a very nice picnic area and it is a great place for swimming.
Directions
From the E16, exit by the Ulnes church and follow the signs towards Vaset and Panoramavegen (toll road). Continue on the same road in the direction of Nøsen and turn right towards Haugvørpe, just before you reach Nøsen Fjellhotell. There are good parking possibilities there, as well as at the Buaråne junction, keep to the right towards Grunke/Bukono and continue for another 4 km.
