This magnificent round-trip can be cycled as a day trip for trained cyclists or a 2-day-trip for families. It leads through beautiful farming and mountain landscapes and invites to make breaks for fishing, swimming and hiking along the route.  

Difficulty: Moderate. Not suitable for trailers due to some wet sections and trails where you may have to push the bike.

Directions:

From Vaset, follow the Panoramavegen road westbound in the direction of Nøsen. Enjoy a nice viewpoint with great vistas that extend all the way to Jotunheimens many peaks in clear weather. From there it’s mostly downhill to lake Rensenn where you’ll find a nice sandy, shallow beach. This is a beautiful spot to take a break and go swimming. In July and the beginning of August, the open summer mountain farm Lisjordestølen can be visited.

Continue for another approx. 800-900 meters and exit to the right onto Jaslangvegen. Now you follow Jaslangvegen along the mountains farms to the bridge over the River Buaråne, but don't cross it. Instead, keep going on Jaslangvegen straight/ half right uphill towards the beautiful Jaslangen mounatin farm area. When you reach the top you will have the mountain Grønsennknippa on your right.

Approx 100 m past the picnic area, turn left on a path towards M.Syndin. This section may be wet, and you might have to dismount and push your bike for a bit. Once you reach Svult you are back on gravel roads and turn right to follow road along Lake Midtre Syndin towards Syndinstøga. Syndinstoga is a nice place to eat and rest or spend the night.

Now you turn south-eastwards and cycle back along Lake Midtre Syndin on the other shore. You can now follow the signs "Mjølkevegen" all the way back to Vaset. After a steep downhill run, slow down and keep to the right. You will pass by yet another beautiful farming area and cycle along with Lake Sørre Syndin on your left. At the end of the lake, turn right onto a track towards Trollhovd (signed Vaset). Again, there may be wet parts where you will have to dismount and push. You reach the farm area of Trollhovd and turn left onto the road which leads in a half circle around the hill Nørdre Trollhovd on its southern side. Having reached the other side of the hill, turn right and follow the signs back to Vaset, passing Søre Trollhovd, Murkelie and Lake Vasetvatnet.

Tip: Bring a hiking or cycling map scaled 1:50.000 since the signage along this route may be of varying quality.
