A trip to Valdres will give you a lifetime of memories, and if you've been here once, you'll want to return again and again to experience new activities, festivals and seasons. There are few if any regions in Norway with such a varied offer through all four seasons.

With its location right in the middle of southern Norway, Valdres is easily accessible by bus, air or driving on your own. There are many areas to choose from and the 6 municipalities all have large and small tourist destinations, where the best known is the mountain resort of Beitostølen. Besseggen is the most popular hike in the summer and Jotunheimen with its high mountain peaks is a popular recreation area for hiking, cycling, climbing and other nature activities. The National Tourist Route accross Valdresflya is a scenic road not to be missed where you can enjoy a magnificent view of the Jotunheimen National Park. You can also try Mjølkevegen, a cycling route from Vinstra to Gol that takes you through the most beautiful mountain and summer farm areas in Valdres. 

In the winter season there are more than 1000 km of cross-county trails, several alpine areas and many other popular winter activities such as dog sledding, kiting and guided peak tours.
