This cycling trail follows the same route as the terrain cycling race Valdresrittet. It is a moderately challenging day tour for medium experienced cyclists on gravel roads and trails. The Valdresrittet circuit is a varied allround course, mostly on farm roads (gravel) with single trail sections in open high country.

Tour description:
The tour starts and ends at Sekskanten Kro at Vaset. In the beginning it leads along the southern shore of Lake Vasetvatnet through idyllic farm country. It continues on a good gravel road with some ascends and downhill rides to Grønsennhøgde, where the first trail section starts: at first on a tractor track to Ormestadstølen and then on a single track (potentially wet) to Svult. If you choose to walk with your bike here, you’ll be able to enjoy the fantastic view over the two Syndin lakes towards the high mountains of Jotunheimen.
Keep going along Lake Midtre Syndin until you reach the café Syndinstøga where you can buy refreshments and try Norway’s national dish, rømmegrøt (sour cream porridge). From here, tour leads first south on the other side of lake Midtre Syndin and then up to Fiskeløyse. From here, another track section leads over Syndisfjellet.
Now you’re well on your way back to Vaset, and the terrain is mostly easy, partly on a good trail. The last 5 km are the same as the first, follow the gravel road along lake Vasetvatnet back to Sekskanten.

We recommend that you bring a detailed topographical map (recommended: Vestre Slidre turkart, scale 1:50 000) as the signage may not always be clear.
