From the E16, exit by the Ulnes church and follow the signs to Panoramavegen and Vaset (toll road). Continue on the same road in the direction of Nøsen and turn right by the containers, a few hundred meters before you reach Nøsen Fjellhotell. Keep going for another 4 km until you reach a road crossing at Buaråne. Turn left, pass the bridge and continue for another 2.5 km towards Bukono/Grunke. Approx. 1 km after the exit towards Halvorstølen, park at the designated trailhead or approx. 100 m later at a gravel pit.
Walk along the tractor road to Halvorstølen and exit to the left onto the signed path at a small cairn. Steep uphill trail before it evens out by Bukonofjellet. Between approx. 1200 and 1350 m.a.s.l. there are many sheep tracks that may make it difficult to stay on the right path. Just keep going upwards and stay in the direction northwest until you find the trail again and finally see the cairn on the top of Gråkampen. The upper parts are rocky.
To the right of the path (when walking uphill) there is a cave called “Hulabakkhula”. It is situated at the top of a steep and narrow snow field, at an altitude of 1320 m.s.l., approx. 700-800 m away from the path, easily accessible on a rock gallery above the snow field. Bring torches if you want to explore the cave.
