Reinehamaren 1161 masl
About
Reinehamaren is an easy shorter hike in the Langsua National Park on a partly marked and clear trail. From the summit you can enjoy a panoramic view over large parts of Valdres, Langsua and Jotunheimen National Park.
From Susstølen:
Distance: approx. 3.5 km one way
Estimated time: approx. 1-1.5 hours up
Elevation gain: approx. 270 m
Suitable for children: from approx. 4-5 years
Directions
From Valdres Skisenter in Skrautvål, follow Svarthamarvegen (toll) until a signposted junction towards Susstølen (driving time approx. 30-40 min). Here you can choose to exit to the left and follow the road to Susstølen (until the road ends) or you can keep straight ahead to Svarthamar (until the road ends). There are parking possibilities at both ends. At Svarthamar there is a self-serviced mountain cabin belonging to the DNT (Norwegian Hiking Association; standard key required).
The hike
The hike from Svarthamar is a bit longer than from Susstølen, but both trails are marked in the direction of Liomseter. The last section up to the summit follows an unmarked, but clear path. The summit is marked with a large cairn, and you can enjoy a fantastic and wide view in all directions.
This is a tour in fairly easy terrain, but at places it might be a bit boggy and wet. The trails lead through mountain birch forests up onto the treeless fells and continue over highlands for the rest of the trip.
