About

Ørneflagg is the southernmost top in Valdres and the highest point in Sør-Aurdal County.

Directions:
From the South: Drive on E16 to Nes i Ådal and turn to the left onto road 243 towards Hedalen.
From the North: Drive on E16 until Begnadalen and turn right towards Hedalen. There you follow road 243 southwards towards Nes i Ådal.
From road 243, follow the signs towards Vassfaret (toll road). Park the car at the bridge Bogbrua, ca. 4−5 km after you left road 243.

Tour description:
A private road (closed to traffic) leads to the DNT-hut “Storekrak”. Follow the road by foot or bike. After crossing Øvre Bogbrua (a signed bridge) the path splits. Follow the left path until you see a sign towards Vassfarkoia and continue on that path for 2 km up to approx. 1100 m elevation. From here, follow the signed but unmarked path towards Ørneflag. This path can be difficult to find at first, but becomes clearer and easier to follow after approx. 50 meters.
Alternatively you can continue for another approx. 600 m onto the saddle at 1200 m elevation and reach the summit from the south.

It’s possible to walk (no path) to the lake Fisketjernet and return to Storekrak on a marked path from there, otherwise return on the same way you came up.
