This tour is nick-named "The workout". If you're looking for a bicycle tour with some tough climbs - this one's for you! The first 6 km are mostly uphill, and at some points you may need to walk with your bike, but what a spectacular view once you reach the top! The trip can be prolonged with a detour to the summit of Gribbehaugen (1057 m.a.s.l.) or by adding the Pardisrunden cycling tour.

Directions:

The cycling tour Ølsjøbakkadn is signed from the starting point at the Joker convenience store in Tisleidalen. Start by following Tisleivegen for approx. 1.5 km before turning right onto Brattstølvegen. Brattstølen means “farm on a steep hillside”, and most cyclists will have to dismount and push their bike up this steep hill. Turn left onto Gjølmyrvegen and later, at Menka, follow it to the right further uphill. Now the terrain flattens, and soon Gjølmyrvegen turns into Lakkegata. From here, there’s a stunning view over the Valley Tisleidalen with Lake Ølsjøen and towards the Makalaus mountain massif on the other side of the valley. Follow Lakkegata downhill to the main road 51. Be careful in the steep downhill slopes and keep your hand on the breaks. Follow road 51 to the right back towards the Joker store.

Variations:
* Instead of returning on road 51 to the Joker store, continue on the “Pardisrunden” tour around Lake Ølsjøen, which adds 14 km and 159 m elevation gain to the tour.
* Detour around Gribbe (1057 m.a.s.l.): At Mekna, continue straight ahead on Liasetvegen to Liaset. Here you turn right towards Åkervollstølen and after approx. 2 km, turn right again onto a cart track to Gribbe / Gribbehaugen (it’s a short side trip from the track to the summit point) and return to Gjølmyr. This detour is approx. 6.5 km long and adds an elevation gain of 160 m.
