The familiy cycling tour in Vang is a nice short circuit through birch forest in foothills of mighty Mount Grindane, above the village of Grindaheim. It contains one longer climb at the end of the route. Early during summer the forest floor may be white of flowering wood anemone. 

Difficulty: easy, but a climb of a few km at the end of the route; suitable for families with children.
Distance: 11 km
Elevation gain: 316 m

Directions:
Exit the E16 towards Helin and follow Helinvegen for approx. 3 km until the toll station, where you park your car. This is the starting point for this cycling route. Turn right onto Langebakkvegen and cycle for approx. 4 km towards Skakadalen valley. You will soon be able to enjoy a nice view over the village, Lake Vangsmjøse and the mountains to the north. The road leads mostly through birch forest, and you will find several nice spots for a rest. Where Langebakkvegen makes a right-hand turn downhill towards the village, after approx. 150 m turn left and keep following the road along the hillside towards Skakadalen. Reaching the end of the road, turn right into Sørre Skakadalsvegen and run down towards the village. Here, turn right again onto Ellingbøvegen and at Ellingbø, turn left onto Ellingbøgøta which brings you back to Helinvegen and eventually your car.
