Slettningsbu
About
Slettningsbu is a self serviced DNT cabin located in the vicinity of Jotunheimen National Park, to the south-west of Lake Tyin. The cabin is surrounded by beautiful, varied mountain landscape and is easily accessible both summer and winter. A hike (or ski tour) up the mountain Slettningseggi is highly recommended during your stay at Slettningsbu.
Facilities
Slettningsbu has 14 beds and have most of what you need for a pleasant stay; bedspreads, food and kitchen appliances are there, but there is no inlaid electricity or water. Candles can be used as a light source, propane for the kitchen, and water can be collected from a source outside. You need to bring your own bed sheets or sleeping bag, and the DNT key. Dogs are not allowed in the main cabin, but there is an annex at Slettningsbu which is facilitated with a dog cage.
How to get there
Marked trails during summer and skiing routes during winter start at the eastern end of Lake Torolmen and Tyinstølen along road 53 towards Øvre Årdal or Kyrkjestølane along the E16.
