Ellingbø Gard
About
In the hillside above the church in Vang, at the farm Sørre Ellingbø, you can stay in an old farm building from 1840, Olavstøga, in idyllic surroundings with endless possibilities for hikes and experiences.
During the summer of 2020 Olavstøga was completely refurbished and modernized. The popular historical hiking route, King's Road, is not far from the farm.
On the summer mountain farm at Helin, not far from the main farm, there is a small wooden cabin that has been accommodating guests since 2017. It has five bed spaces. We use the mountain farm for our milk cattle for six weeks every summer. As our guests on the summer farm you are the only guests, and there's no other form of tourism around. In addition to the cattle there are pigs, sheep and horses on the summer farms around us. You are welcome to participate in the daily chores on the summer farm - a great experience for guests of all ages. Children tend to get "their own" pig or calf while they are with us on the summer farm. For many, a stay on the summer farm is travelling back in time to when life was slower and there was more room to simply enjoy life. The farm life is rich in culture, tradition and outdoor activities, and we invite our guests to take part in that.
