Svarthamar
About
Svarthamar is a self-serviced DNT-cabin, idyllically located in a summer farm area in Langsua National Park. Cows are grazing right outside the cabin, in a fenced area. The cabin is from early 19th century, and looks like a traditional Norwegian summer farm. There are marked hiking trails to Svarthamarknatten, Lenningen and Liomseter.
Facilities
Svarthamar has nine beds, and most of what you need for a pleasant stay: bedsheets, food and kitchen appliances, but no running water or electricity. Candles can be used as a light source, propane for the kitchen, and water can be collected from a source outside. You need to bring your own bed sheets or sleeping bag, and the DNT key. Dogs are not allowed in the main cabin, but can stay in the separate cabin which is equipped with a dog crate.
How to get there
You can drive all the way to the cabin during the summer (on Svarthamarvegen from Skrautvål, private toll road).
