Stølsnøse is a short and easy but snow safe ski tour in the Tyin area which sports fantastic views towards Jotunheimen in the north with the pointed summit of Uranostinden right in the view line. From the north this trip is beginner friendly and suitable for both back country and mountain ski tour equipment. The "front face" of the mountain, however, is only for experienced off-piste skiers and not described here. 

Directions and tour description
The starting point is along road 53 towards Øvre Årdal, approx. 500-700 m after the exit towards Eidsbugarden (this road is closed during winter) where you will find lay-bys along the road. 
The ski tour starts with approx. 100 m elevation gain towards the outflow of Lake Galdstjernet. Cross the lake and follow the least steep line up the north-western ridge to the summit. Run downhill along the same route.  

Please be aware that avalanches can occur in hillsides with inclinations lower than 30 degrees and that it is you who is responsible for making the right choices.
