Vaset

The cross country trail network in Vaset spans over approx. 120 kilometers and is groomed by Vasetløypene SA with two large trail cats with a width of 4.5 meters. There are two classical tracks on each side with a free style zone in between.

The trails run through varied, rolling terrain, from spruce and birch forest up to the high open plains, and there’s a lit forest trail. The forest trails offer protection from windy and snowy weather while the trails on the mountain plateau offer wide views on fine days. In general, the trails in the Vaset trail net are easy to intermediate with not too long and not too steep ascends and easy, fun downhill runs and flat parts in between. They fit everyone from beginners and families to competing skiers who come here for exercising. There are groomed trails to the high points of Synet (1137 m.a.s.l.), Landsrudfeten and Ålfjell.

The main plan is to groom all tracks in weekends and holiday periods as far as the snow conditions allow. In midweek a smaller part of the track networks is maintained daily. When both grooming cats are running, the complete track system is groomed within 6-7 hours.

The team of Vasetløypene works every summer and autumn improving and maintaining existing tracks as well as clearing new ones.
