How about choosing the bus the next time you travel to Valdres? The bus service Valdresekspressen has regular daily departures between Oslo, Fagernes, Beitostølen and Årdal. In addition, the Øst-Vestekspressen has daily departures between Lillehammer and Bergen, via Fagernes, and with corresponding bus connections to Beitostølen. There are also scheduled bus connections to/from both Gjøvik, Gol and Lærdal. In the summer season, you can also take the bus on to Bygdin, over Valdresflye and to Gjendesheim. The buses correspond with the boats M/B Bitihorn and Gjendebåten.

Innlandstrafikk serves public transport locally, and in the summer, they offer their own mountain routes to transport hikers to the hiking entry points in Jotunheimen.

Innlandstrafikk also operates an environmentally friendly city bus between Fagernes and Leira to make it easier to get around the regional center without your own car.
